The 2025 World Design Cities Conference (WDCC 2025) took place in Shanghai from September 25 to 28. Under the theme “Design Without Boundaries, Life in Continuity,” the conference brought together global perspectives on design-led innovation and sustainable development.
The Italy Pavilion focused on sustainability and the value of human capital. It highlighted the Italian design tradition of craftsmanship, innovation, quality and attention to detail, while examining how sustainability shapes design, business ecosystems and value chains.
As one of the participating Italian companies, Santoni demonstrated how sustainability is integrated into knitting-machine design and production. Riccardo Stiglich from the CEO Office of Santoni (Shanghai) Knitting Machinery Co., Ltd. also joined a leadership dialogue on sustainability, brand identity and the future of industrial value chains.
