To explore the knitting process of Santoni machines in knitted dresses, we invited British Designer Bethan Juliff come to Santoni Shanghai.

Bethan Juliff, who graduated from the university of Nottingham to study knitting, set up her own brand in 2012.

Social media said:" Juliff's beautifully structured knitted dresses are reminiscent of Azzedine Alaia or Alexander McQueen in the way they bring shape and an almost tailored air to what is usually a soft and unstructured medium."

In these two month, Juliff cooperated with Santoni engineers to develop series of knitted dress through by Santoni machine.  Finally, Juliff choose Santoni Mec Mor and SM4-TL2 to develop her collection.

  Energizing concept

The energizing concept is designed for busy daily life, to give an extra boost for the user, “to go the extra mile”. Designed to give the user the right mood and positive energy, so that the day is as good as possible. 

The outfit is created with the idea to find the best feeling for all-day-long. It includes the layers of knitwear, from light wool to heavier structures. 

Erwin Blumenfeld’s photographs from late 1940’s and Dior’s New Look have been the inspiration for the knitwear patterns and structures.

When She first came here one of my ideas was to play with the pleats. She wanted to try out and see if there are different ways to make knitted pleats and to find the shapes and structures which are most suitable for knitted pleats.

The knit pattern on both fabric development express overlapping layers of fabrics, people and stories. Suits mixed with childhood wall stickers (child prints), overall creating a modern and pop aesthetic. 

The shape is second skin look, a top that you can put on like a socks. 

Some writing elements in the knits, ie. “ハランベ＋BOBBY” and “Bum.2.yo”, are not random writings. They tell about her personal experiences, good times and hard times, she connect them with events and people that influenced her in the past few months of her life.

Taking inspiration from the Italian artist Alberto Burri, the core and the decorative aspects of the capsule collection are simply expressed by the repeated pattern with the use of different yarns and knitting techniques.

Techniques that make us wonder about the relationship between deterioration and the process of creation.

At the beginning of creation, she try yo use wool, but then her realize that it wasn’t fluffy enough for her, so she put together Polyester, wool, and cover lycra. This effect is made by the floating yarns.

We also attract a lot of brands, yarn suppliers and freelance designers to join this graduation presentation.

Different from past, this year Santoni will not take part in great exhibition in Yiwu, we will focus on the preparation of new application.

Seamless machinery(E28) enter to China market for nearly 20 years. The application of seamless market starts from underwear, now already extend to sports and fashion. With the growth of seamless industry, we get lots of chance, but also meet some new challenges. - More comfortable underwear and textured sportswear

For the past two years, textile market become more strong. Some companies benefit from this opportunity. When Brands ask us for the new products, how can we make an impression to them? So we spend lots of time to find new information and try to make new chance.

In this private show, we will put underwear and sportswear in two plate, and make a detailed explaination for you. Our target is  to distinguish between underwear and sportswear, and make underwear more light and comfortable;  sportswear more textured.

Santoni took part in "DTG 2018" and "Egy Stitch & Tex 2018" in February and March. Fully showed the latest technology, craft and material.

Now, Santoni circular knitting machines have become one of the hottest product in the world. We devote in developing oversea market and constantly expanding sales territory in recent years. As a leader of circular knitting machine, we hope to get audience from different regions, bring tremendous market demands and growth opportunities for the knitting industry.

As we all known, Bangladesh textile market is in their growing phase. Fortunately, circular knitting machines are still imported in good numbers in Bangladesh market. Santoni take part in DTG and create some opportunities. We received some audience that interested in our machine and want to explore further business with Santoni circular knitting machine. The potential in Egypt is huge. So Santoni join in "Egy Stitch & Tex 2018". Fortunately, Santoni almost covered all large diameter machine area, such as single jersey,  3-ends-fleece, structured interlock, scuba, spacer..., we can satisfy all demand that market want.

To show our advanced technology, our machine "ZENIT HS OPEN 220" running at the center of the booth. One single jersey machine with 3 feeders per diameter inch capable to knit up to 4 track structures, with/without lycra. The RD efforts for this machine are putting on three aspects, "higher productivity", "excellent fabric quality", " user friendly". 

Santoni will take part in SPINEXPO SS 2018 to be held in Shanghai, China, from 13th to 15th March 2018, Booth B10.

A sensual future —— Emotion Driven Design

During the exhibition,  vice President of Santoni SH Mr Tiziano.Sandonini invited by the organizers to participate in the semiar ——"A Sensual Future sensory Future".

How to design with an intention that there is an emtional connection to the products. The emotional connection can come from how it feels when you touch it to how it feels against your skin, how it smells or even how it moves with you. It is a connection taht awaken your sense.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :Performance will be the word for our company if we want to provide right equipment to the factory which need to produce the fabric that follow this trend. Will be a new performance for the machine for make it able to use a new yarn or define a new combination between yarn and stitch construction or new machine.

We explore the importance of Texture and feel in material. Everything from Sily finishes to super soft feels to flowy knits.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :Texture is very important for creat the feeling but is not the only factor we have to consider. Machine Guage, yarn dimension, elasticity, yarn combination and finishing, all these factors are very important if we want to achieve the softness and flow peculiarity.

Talk about the importance of comfort all around us in our homes with anything we wear. We touch on how comfort is at the core without compromise of an elevated esthetic. You no longer need to give up on style to feel comfortable in what you wear or how you live.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :Comfort is coming from different knitting combination this is what we have experiment. Knitting combination means exploring for different yarn with different stitch construction in order to found the right stitch that need to be used for create the comfort. No matter if we are using natural or synthetic fiber, each yarn reacts in different way when we go to knit them.

The other important factor for the comfort is a finishing process no matter if we are using row material or already dye yarn.

Possibly find material or yarn that include benefits that nurture the skin or have additional wellness attributes.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :For sure wellness is coming from the material, which is used for making the fabric, but different stitch can create a performance to improve the attribute. In several cases like compression garment or 3D garment the way we do the knitting is the key issue for generate the wellness.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :Sensuality is a feeling that we can generate if we are able to transfer in the fabric, the right combination between yarn and knitting construction, create the right balance will be the task of our research for the future, Define new conbination explore different way of knit is the activity which drives the development.

The goal is to look for makers that are exploring any of the above and to feature their innovation.

Mr Tiziano.Sandonini :Application is the word that our company is using to define the future innovation activity. Without know, without understand, without explore new application is coming very difficult to be able to follow the market trend and the market request. As a company, which wants to lead the market of circular knitting we can't avoid invest in this innovatiopn activity.
